I'm not a Big Loser!

Well, at least I'm not the Biggest Loser... :) I joined a Biggest Loser competition in January with my local mom's group. In 11 weeks, I've lost 13 pounds (13.5 since the beginning of January). Considering I've never actually worked out or made a serious attempt to lose weight before, I'm pretty pleased with myself. I have another 15 to go before I'll be at my goal weight. But I know I can get there. It might take me 15 more weeks at the rate I'm going... But I'm not going to stop until I am there. I will get my BMI under control. I will set a healthy example for my children and my family. I will feel confident no matter what I'm wearing that I look good. It will happen. I'm not there yet, but I'm on my way. This competition was a great motivator to get me moving. Now that it is over, I need to keep going. I can do it!!

Back at it

So I had to take some time off from the gym last week, between teething monster baby and allergy-sick boy. So today was my first day back at the gym since last Tuesday. I have to say, it feels pretty good!! I opted for Zumba instead of KettlebellKick so that I might actually be able to walk in the morning! Tomorrow is spinning and PowerFlex (weight lifting), and Thursday is the weigh-in for the Biggest Loser competition I joined in January. I highly doubt I'm in the running for any prizes, but I have lost 12.5 pounds since the beginning of January (12 for the competition), which is 6.4% of my bodyweight!! That's not too shabby, yanno? Ideally, I have another 15.5 pounds to lose. But I know I can do it, if I just keep working at it! The new, slim, healthy me is on its way!!

Sleep is for the weak!

...And Momma must be the strongest person in the world! At least if you ask Baby Girl!! :-)

We've been battling the Tooth Fairy at our house. Now, this isn't the nice, sweet, kind Tooth Fairy who whisks away fallen teeth and leaves cold, hard cash in their place. This is the Tooth Fairy who tortures small children and infants by painfully pushing new teeth through their tender gums. She robs us of sleep, she steals our happy girl and leaves us instead with crabbiness, grumpiness, and fussing. I would LOVE to have my sweet girl back sometime soon!!

Been a while...

So, its been a while since I blogged. I need to get back into this, as I think it is good for me. :) Baby Girl is now over 9 months old, and The Boy will be 5 in a couple months. Time just FLIES. In the meantime, I've been really trying to make some positive changes in my life. Better wife, better mom, better housekeeper, better cook... just better. I've also lost over 10 lbs since the beginning of January!! Change is slow, change is hard. But change we must.
